Invoicing Accuracy

China. On a monthly basis, MOL measures the percentage of ocean freight invoices issued correctly the first time (no credit notes issued subsequently).

MOL Target:

For China Export, the target percentage is 99% accuracy.

MOL Action Plan:

2017

February 2017. We achieved the target with a result of 99.08% in February 2017. We will continue to work hard to achieve the target.

January 2017. The 98.87% result for January 2017 was a slight regression compared to December 2016.

2016

December 2016. The 99.01% result for December 2016 was an improvement compared to November 2016. This was also the best result in 2016.

November 2016. The invoicing accuracy continued to slip slightly - it fell to 98.82% in November 2016.

October 2016. The 98.96% result for October 2016 was a slight slippage compared to September 2016.

September 2016. The 98.98% result for September 2016 was an improvement compared to August 2016. This was the best result since the establishment of the Invoicing Accuracy KPI.

August 2016. The accuracy improved from 98.40% to 98.42% compared to July.

July 2016. The accuracy improved from 96.67% to 98.4% but is still not meeting the target.

June 2016. The result of 96.67% for June 2016 is a decline compared to May 2016. 

May 2016. The result of 98.27% was a slight improvement compared to April 2016.

April 2016. The result of 98.09% slipped compared to results from March 2016.

March 2016. The 98.71% result for March 2016 was below the target but a significant improvement from February 2016 and the best result since April 2015.

February 2016. The 97.90% result was below the target.

January 2016. The 98.51% result was below the target but a slight improvement compared to December 2015.

2015

December 2015. Although we still missed the target, our performance improved significantly to 98.13% compared to November, we will still work to further improve our performance to get close to the 99% target.

November 2015. We missed the target. The result slipped to 94.14% compared to October 2015.

October 2015. The result remained at 98.7% compared to September 2015, however, we still missed the target.

September 2015. Our 98.7% result was below the target but a slight improvement from August 2015.

August 2015. We missed the target. Our performance of 98.5% for August 2015 is a slight regression from July 2015.

July 2015. Since we began measuring the KPI in April 2015, we have reached the target each time. The 99.5% result for July 2015 is a slight improvement from June 2015.  The 99.37% result for June 2015 is a slight decline from the 99.56% result for May 2015 and a slight decline from the 99.75% result for April 2015.

July 2016. Export performance is improving and getting closer to the target. Import performance remains stable compared to the previous month and is on target.

June 2016. Export performance improved and is getting closer to the target. Import performance is meeting the target.

May 2016. Export performance has been stable for three months but the performance remains two percentage points below target. Import performance improved by one percentage point compared to last month and remains above the target.

April 2016. Export performance has been stable for two months but the performance is two percentage points below target. Import performance remained the same compared to the previous month and is exceeding the target.

March 2016. Export performance improved compared to the last two months and is getting closer to the target. Import performance remained the same compared to previous months.

February 2016. After a couple of months with improvements, the export and import performance stagnated. Import performance is on target and the export performance is below the target.

2015

December 2015. Export performance improved again and the result is closer to the target. Import performance improved and exceeds the target.

November 2015. Export performance improved slightly, after remaining steady for three consecutive months. Import performance remains on target.

October 2015. Export performance has stabilized for the third consecutive month and efforts to improve are ongoing. Import performance remains on target.

September 2015. Export performance has stabilized, although efforts to improve continue to be made. Import performance remains on target.

August 2015. There is a small improvement in export performance which is encouraging. Import performance is back on target this month as predicted.

July 2015. Export performance remains unchanged although still below the target. Structural process changes are being implemented and we hope to see their positive impact soon. There was a small dip in import performance but we expect to be back on target next month.

June 2015. There are no changes compared to May 2015 and we continue to work on structural ways to improve export performance. We are pleased that import remains on target.

May 2015. Export performance remains the same as last month, and we continue to work on structural ways to improve performance. We are pleased that import has reached the target.

April 2015. Both results are the same as last month - although missing the target, there has been no repeat of the deterioration experienced earlier this year. We continue to work on structural ways to improve performance.

March 2015. An improvement in export invoice quality this month, linked to process changes, has led to slower speed of invoicing at one location. Import quality missed the target again, but we are continually monitoring and seeking structural ways to improve performance.

February 2015. Process changes to improve export quality will start to be implemented this month and the results should become visiible shortly. There was a small dip in import quality this month and we are monitoring the situation.

January 2015. The deterioration in export quality was caused by an issue at one region. Process changes to address this have been approved and the results should become visible in the coming months. Import quality reached the target for a second consecutive month.

2014

December 2014. Export quality continues to improve and the objective is to continue this trend. Import quality has reached the target this month.

November 2014. Export quality has stabilized and the objective is to steadily improve in the coming months. Import quality has improved and is close to hitting the target. Performance will continue to be monitored closely.

October 2014. Export and Import sightly dropped, which may be a short-term result of organizational changes. We will monitor this closely in the coming weeks.

September 2014. Export quality is recovering from last month's deterioration in performance. Our attention is focused on sustained improvement and achieving the targets.

August 2014. Performance has deteriorated this month due to an increase in the volume of errors in the Nordic countries. This is a regular seasonal trend during the short summer holiday period in that region. Nevertheless, we will investigate what actions can be taken to prevent a recurrence.

July 2014. Export performance has improved but is still short of the target and this continues to have our attention. The import result is still on target.

December 2013. Export accuracy has increased to 92% and import accuracy has recovered from last month's dip.

November 2013. Export accuracy remains consistent with previous months but import accuracy has declined by two percentage points this month for reasons that are not yet clear.

October 2013. Both export and import accuracy results remain the same as in September.

September 2013. Export accuracy has recovered slightly this month following the summer vacation period. Import quality is the same as last month. This area continues to receive intensive focus.

August 2013. Unfortunately, export accuracy has dipped slightly this month during the summer vacation period while import accuracy has achieved a three-month peak result. This area continues to receive intensive focus.

July 2013. We are pleased to see a further improvement in the quality of export invoices while import remains stable. This area continues to receive intensive focus.

June 2013. We continue to focus on invoice quality and are pleased to see an improvement on the export side while imports have stabilized. Efforts to achieve higher quality levels are on-going.

May 2013. The accuracy of import invoices has improved for the second consecutive month. Export invoicing remains a challenge and we are focusing our attention in this area.

April 2013. The new pricing system continues to be a challenge, but in April we have achieved an improvement in the quality of import invoices.

March 2013. Performance has been disappointing, particularly with export accuracy. This is partly due to the implementation of a new internal pricing system. We are studying the feasibility of introducing new work processes in order to improve the quality of our freight invoices.

May 2014. Import performance has recovered and again exceeds the target. Export performance is moving closer to the target and continues to receive attention.

April 2014. Perfoormance has deteriorated this month and export quality has our attention. Although there was also a fall in import quality, performance continues to exceed the target. The fall in import quality was caused by corrections made following an annual tariff adjustment that took place on April 1 and is expected to be a one time event.
